English translation[2]

Within the spreading darkness, I pledged a vow to the revolution
I can't let anybody interrupt it, I'm going to change

The future that the forbidden fruit foretells...
I'm going to change the dream into reality

The "ending" that everybody wants

Within the spreading darkness, I pledged our vow to the revolution
I can't let anybody interrupt it
Someday I'll show you
A bright and ideal world

Full Version

English translation

Within the spreading darkness,
We exchanged vows of revolution
An evil flower that sprouted because it was loved
Because I can't let anyone interfere
With everything that'll come about from now on

I see the future and the fruit it brings
The city that has forgotten reasoning
The present is distorted black
Dreams, turn into ideals

Why? Am I a broken Messiah?
Everyone wished for a "finale"…

Within the spreading darkness,
We exchanged vows of revolution
An evil flower that sprouted because it was loved
I can't let anyone interfere
With everything that'll come about from now on
Someday, I'll show you a shining sky

Why? Am I a broken Messiah?
Everyone dreamed of a "paradise"…

Within the spreading darkness,
We exchanged vows of revolution
An evil flower that sprouted because it was loved
I can't let anyone interfere
With everything that’ll come about from now on
Someday, I'll show you a shining world.

Trivia

  • The opening was slightly modified after Watari's revealing, from then on showing him taking his hat off.
  • The deity depicted in the opening artwork of Impossible is adapted to the ending of this opening, as seen behind Light (in the frame above).
  • The Cantonese version of the anime uses a Cantonese cover of "the WORLD" for the opening instead of the original Japanese version by Nightmare.
