The Story High school student Light Yagami discovers a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anyone by writing the victim's name while picturing their face. The story follows his attempts to become a god by creating a New World cleansed of evil, using the notebook, and the complex conflict between himself and all those who try to stop or help him. The Series Death Note is a shounen series created by writer Tsugumi Ohba and artist Takeshi Obata. It began as a manga serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump in 2003, and it has been adapted into a live-action Japanese film series beginning in 2006, an anime series in 2006, a musical in 2015, a live-action television drama in 2015, and an American film in 2017.

Upcoming November 24, 2018 - A Russian-language concert for Death Note: The Musical will perform in Moscow, Russia. All main singing roles will be performed for the first time. November 30, 2018 - Episodes 4, 5, and 6 for the Death Note audio drama will be released in German. January 22, 2019 - Death Note: Light Up the NEW World will be released subtitled on DVD and Blu-Ray in North America by Funimation. The first two Japanese live-action films Death Note and Death Note: The Last Name will also be re-released subtitled. 2019 - Jump Force video game will be released. It will feature various character from Shonen Jump, including Light and Ryuk. 2020 - Death Note: The Musical will have a third performance run in Tokyo. Recent October 26, 2018 - The first three episodes for the Death Note audio drama were released in German. April 19th, 2017 - Death Note: Light Up the NEW World was released on Blu-Ray and DVD in Japan. March 22nd, 2017 - The first teaser trailer for Netflix's Death Note American remake film was released. Death Note Timeline April 18th 2004 - The Second Kira's tapes are broadcast on Sakura TV. Newscaster Kazuhiko Hibima is killed by the Second Kira. Hirokazu Ukita and other policemen are killed by the Second Kira when they try and stop the program. Soichiro Yagami crashes an armored truck into Sakura TV and confiscates the tapes and the copies.
