Lester Klan is a minor character exclusive to the Death Note film series. He appears only in the second episode of the miniseries Death Note: New Generation.

History[]
In university, Lester befriended Dr. Nicholas Piers. He became Piers' lab assistant in 2014.
Plot[]
At the beginning of the episode, Ryuzaki is working with investigators to determine who murdered Dr. Piers and how he was locked inside a room that had only one key. Ryuzaki walks them through the logic of what happened, determining that Lester Klan is behind several aspects of the case. However, Ryuzaki reveals that Piers' death was a suicide, not a murder. Some accusations had been leveled at Piers, and the suicide could be interpreted as an admission of guilt. Lester staged the scene to appear as a murder in order to spare his friend's reputation.
The investigators decide to bring in Lester, but Ryuzaki, who has been speaking to them remotely while he walks through the streets of Hong Kong, tells them that he's already tracked him down. Lester is overlooking the Hong Kong night life, and Ryuzaki joins him, smiles, and says, "Hi, Lester."
