John McEnroe (ジョン・マッケンロー, Jōn Makkenrō) is an FBI agent and a member of the SPK.

Appearance

McEnroe is a muscular man with small eyes and dark blond hair that he keeps parted to the side. He wears a black suit and tie with a white dress shirt underneath.

Plot

McEnroe first appears at the beginning of Part II when he is sent to the Japanese National Police Agency headquarters in order to request that the Death Note they have be handed over to the United States government, and thus, the SPK. Soichiro Yagami, Deputy Director of the NPA, accuses the FBI of being involved in the abduction of Kanichi Takimura, head of the NPA. McEnroe convinces him that this is not the case, and they agree to work together in order to rescue Takimura.

Takimura's death is later announced by his abductors, and Mello orders the kidnapping of Soichiro's daughter Sayu, leaving her father with little choice but to go to America and hand the Death Note over to the Mafia. After the exchange is made, McEnroe picks the Yagamis up by helicopter and takes them to Los Angeles, where Near questions them about the kidnappers.

It is assumed he dies when the Mafia kills the majority of the SPK members using their newly acquired Death Note.
