C-Kira (シー-キラ, Shī-Kira) is the user of Midora's spare Death Note.
Character[]
C-Kira is noticeably different from other users of the Death Note in the series, as they only kill the elderly that wish to die. It is known that C-Kira made the trade for the Shinigami Eyes. It's also apparent that their will wasn't very strong, as after Near says (as L) that C-Kira is a "nothing but a murderer," C-Kira commits suicide. It can be assumed due to the many figures in their room which bear a resemblance to things like Japanese superheroes (primarily seen in Tokusatsu series) to magical girls that they are an "otaku".
Near also states that C-Kira was likely motivated to kill the elderly after perhaps killing their sick grandfather and believing themselves to be the new Kira.
Plot[]
C-Kira is the name given to the fifth Kira by Near, which stands for Cheap Kira. They are named as such because they only kill the elderly that wish to die, which is similar to assisted suicide. Near has no interest in pursuing the case, citing his lack of personal interest, calling C-Kira "nothing but a murderer."
Rejected by Near, C-Kira suddenly stops writing names into the Death Note. Midora returns to the Shinigami Realm, telling Ryuk that C-Kira turned pale, stared at their wall for 3 days, "started screaming" and wrote their own name in the Death Note. Ryuk then tells Midora one of Light's statements: "What's needed for a human to use the Death Note is emotional strength and conviction."
Trivia[]
- The film Death Note: Light Up the NEW World introduced a physician named Alexey lvanov who serves as a loose adaption of C-Kira. In the film, Ivanov begins a campaign of assisted-suicide all across Europe.
