Arayoshi Hatori (葉鳥新義, Hatori Arayoshi) is one of the eight members of the Yotsuba Group.
Character[]
Hatori is the Vice President of Marketing at Yotsuba. He is the illegitimate son of the company president and uses this fact to benefit himself. Death Note 13: How to Read states that he "appears to be something of a lightweight" and that he cannot handle the pressures of the meetings.
Hatori is a married man with children and a graduate of the Futatsubashi University Literature department with an interest in ceramics. How to Read 13 also states that he dislikes vegetables.
Plot[]
Hatori takes part in the Meetings of Death along with other members of the Yotsuba Group. He makes a careless comment about wanting to leave Yotsuba, which causes the other members to be provoked, he quickly takes it back. However, he is still killed by Yotsuba Kira, Kyosuke Higuchi. The surviving Yotsuba Group members are recorded by the Task Force discussing his death; a few show a distinct lack of interest and do not seem to care at all. The members of the Task Force are all disgusted, particularly Matsuda, and some of the other Yotsuba members (notably Shimura and Takahashi) are visibly upset.

Hatori in the 2015 TV Drama
In the 2015 television drama, Hatori participates in the Yotsuba group meetings, but he does not have an outburst and is not killed by Kira. He and the other six Yotsuba Group members survive the series.
