Sharing scans from the anime guidebook
Hello everyone. I want to ask if it would be possible for me to share the scans from the Death Note anime guide book volume 14. I wanted to ask first since I wasn't sure if sharing the scans say via Google Drive would be against Wikia terms of service.
The book is essentially out of print and the scans are lower quality so it would be for fair use purposes such as improving or adding to certain articles on this Wikia here. I've also made some translations on some of the passages and pages here and there, but my Japanese isn't the greatest and I still have to use Google Translate. It would be nice to get some translation help from other contributors.
Please let me know what you all think.
Character relationship sections - keep or delete?
I noticed a few character pages, namely "drama" versions of the main cast such as Light, L, and Misa, have character relationship sections. I know the main canon pages don't have them. Should we keep these sections or follow suit with the other wiki profiles and remove them? Or should we go the other direction and add relationship sections to all the important characters?
So lets talk about Wammy's house.
So, Wammy's House, we know what it does; it is a place where L and other characters (Near, Mello, Matt, Linda, BB, A) came from. However i do want to discuss about what happened behind the walls.
Wammy's House was created by Watari, for talented gifted children. At first the goal is to just to raise talented children, however soon L came in. After seeing lots of great achievements from L, Watari decided to make the project for the successor of L, in the orphanage. And here's the question: Do any of you think this is a bit too much? Putting children under pressure to make a successor of the prototype(L)?

Why Light Yagami is not Pure Evil
First of all, I am aware of the Slippery slope he went down as a delusional & insane serial killer, but he did have some hidden mitigating factors/moral agency issues from what I could tell. Though some people may not have noticed them, I did. Without further ado let’s dive in. Bug squashing efforts from Fandom

I wanted to draw your attention to a 2 week quality of life bug fixing project we’re undertaking at Fandom as we work through a ton of great feedback we got about the new unified experience we unveiled at Community Connect last weekend. New layout
The new layout is live!
I think I got all the main code that needs to be updated for readability, and I'll keep making tweaks to the rest. If you spot anything that could use an improvement, drop me a note!
Stuff still to do:
- Main page header images. For now, I put in a quick fix to invert the images, which is why they appear white. I'll look into updating them though.
- Main page sub-header styles.
- Chat fixes. The chat room's night/day view options are now both black, so that's useless. Will need to get around to implementing display options.
- Tabber tabs look kinda funny.
- Manga navigation box image. The death note image is hard to see, maybe find a new image.
- Site needs like 100% more silhouettes of Ryuk flying.

People argue that Tsugumi Ohba is a pen name. Some say Hiroshi Gamou is the author of Death Note manga. Others say it is Asami Yuuko! Well! Portable Infoboxes - Styling Preview
By making use of the user-specific CSS customization available by editing User:[username]/custom.css, I've begun working on creating style themes for the new infobox markup. I've been playing with a few ideas and styles, which I'm putting up here for previewing.
As mentioned before, I can style the new infoboxes to look like the classic ones currently in use. If we're interested in a seamless, unnoticeable transition, this is an option.
Another option is that we can make some changes. The more I consider the possibilities and look through other documentation and designs, the more I'm inspired to update our infobox design.

Creating pages for voice actors and actresses from the English and Japanese dub of the Death Note anime have been sanctioned by staff. You may now make these articles for any cast member as long as it is not a direct copy-paste text and has sources. Dubs for other languages has not been discussed yet, and live-action actors/actresses are still under consideration.

Portable Infoboxes
I've mentioned before that I'm in favor of migrating to the new infobox markup, called portable infoboxes. They have some neat features, like groups and collapsible sections, and they should display correctly across multiple devices. (If you've tried to view a page here on your smartphone lately, you'll know what I'm talking about.) You can read more about them here. I've made one infobox for testing, which is currently in use on the Death Note (TV drama) page.

I got harassing messages from him even afterward. He said it was smart of me to quit, that he's going to find me, that I'm going to pay the ultimate price, that he'll see me soon, that he's obsessed. Goofs
I noticed on the Doubt page that there was a section of goofs (i.e. mistakes or oversights) made in the episode. I really like that idea, and I find it very likely that there are other goofts in other episodes. If you ever notice any, feel free to add them.
We might want to think of a new section title instead of "goofs", though.

Obscenity policy
Due to a recent event on the wiki, I'm going to go over Wikipedia's rules on "Offensive material".
According to the guidelines, "offensive material" (i.e. swears, slurs, etc.) are not to be used unless it is from a direct quote. For example, there are several influences in the Death Note series in which characters swear, and it is acceptable, when using those quotes for an article, to include the swear. However, using swears in blog entries, articles, etc., when not in the context previously stated, is not allowed. Bowdlerizing swears is also not acceptable.
Personally, I swear like an *insert expletive here* sailor, but that is beside the point. Rules are rules. The penalties for swearing will be discussed by the admins, and when we come to…

How to make/add to episode transcripts
Episode transcripts have the entire dialogue of episodes. Certain things should be done when certain things happen. I will explain what to do when a certain even comes up.
When a character is talking:
- if a character is talking, use only their first name, or their last, name, if that is what they are most often referred to as (e.g. Light Yagami = Light, Touta Matsuda = Matsuda)
- add a link to character pages, but only when they first talk [or, if they are mentioned before they talk, then the link should be added there instead]
- if a character is talking in a certain way (e.g. over a two-way radio, with a voice modifier, etc.) add this in the dialogue portion, not with the name (e.g. !Light |([Over the phone]). This goes for thinking, singing, whi…

I think this is very important to discuss.
Because if these two characters were in a battle, it would be very similar to L vs Kira, both are intelligent, and L would stop at nothing to discover a case.
A is almost impossible to find out, of whom that person is, that I had to spoil the story, by looking up the wiki to know who A is.

To-do list for the Wiki (read if you're a contributor!)
So I contribute on Dragon Age Wiki which (unsurprisingly) has a ton of more pages than ours does, which is to be expected for a wiki about a video game which also has novels, comics, movies, etc. A lot of other wikis also have more pages than we do. Hell, if I wasn't so lazy, my wiki would probably have more pages than ours. I realize Death Note isn't a very long series, but there is still a lot to work with, and a lot of potential additions we could make to the wiki. So, here's what I think should be focused on:
• if possible, expand article stubs
• there are 33 other episodes of the anime that could use transcripts, as well as the two Relight episodes
• if anyone can read and translate Japanese, please leave a message on my wall, we have 2-3 …

I got my L Nendoroid but it was a fake and parts of it broke but not the biggest parts like his head. L's Eating Habits Theory
I read a fanfiction one time that really made sense to me regarding L's odd eating habits. He only eats sweets and eats a lot of them, yet he's so thin. It could be because he's a cartoon character and they decided to stretch reality with his statement of being able to use his mind to stay thin as truth but in the fan fiction that was used as an excuse. The truth in the fan fiction was of him being bulimic. Where he binges on food then purges to get rid of it. That would make a lot of sense. Ok, my Death Note Review part 5....(damn, this was a lot longer than I thought)
